Rising Moon

The objective of this project was to create a book about a natural phenomenon. The natural phenomenon I choose to portray with the moon and its phases.

The original concept for my book was to match what the poem was saying. That changed about halfway through designing it. I decided that the poem was powerful enough on it's own that I don't need to illustrate so literally. So I focused on trying to put together an aesthetically pleasing book, that focused on the darker colors and glows of the moon. I did however throw in a couple of pages with yellows and golds, to not only catch the reader's attention, but also to represent a moon phase that I couldn't find a lot of. That being the harvest moon.
