Designed for the Click

A display ad doesn't get much time to make its case. A few seconds, a limited amount of space, and plenty of other things competing for attention.

While at Ripple Marketing, I designed display advertising for clients across a wide range of industries, including South Dakota Farm Bureau, The Diamond Room, Mega Strong Fitness, Aire Serv, Subaru, and Feeding South Dakota.

A Lot to Say in a Little Space

Designing for display means figuring out what matters most—and communicating it quickly.

Each client came with a different brand, audience, and message. Some campaigns focused on promoting a service or offer, while others were built around awareness, events, or driving people to take action.

Across each campaign, I worked within the client's existing visual identity to create ads that were recognizable, easy to understand at a glance, and flexible enough to work across multiple sizes and placements.

That meant adapting typography, imagery, messaging, and layout without losing the idea as the creative moved from one format to another.

From financial services and fitness to nonprofits, automotive, home services, and jewelry, the subject changed constantly. The challenge stayed the same: make a small space work really hard.
